Tournament Field Grows to 38: Marks Fourth Consecutive Summer of Expansion

For a fourth consecutive summer, the "Wally" Seaver High School Invitational has grown in size, as our latest commitments have pushed the field size to 38.

Back in 2012, the event began as a 16-team boys varsity tournament before expanding to 28 teams in its second summer. Just last year, with the addition of a girls varsity division, the field expanded to 37 and as of today, our event has set a new mark for expansion.

With still 87 days remaining until we hit the hardwood to #FightALS, our field is expected to continue to grow. As of today, here is the list of teams that currently make up our 38-team field.

Below is a look into our most recent commitments:

BOYS:

North Kingstown (RI) - The Skippers are amongst the newcomers to this year's field, but they bring with them a group that is fresh off a run to the D1 championship game and an appearance in the semifinals of Rhode Island's overall state tournament.

Silver Lake (MA) - The 4th Annual "Wally" Seaver High School Invitational is bringing in a handful of newcomers here in 2015 and Silver Lake is among those who will be competing for the first time.

GIRLS:

Billerica (MA) - Fresh off a run to the D1 North sectional finals, the Indians will make the trip down to Foxboro, joining our field for the first time.

Tri-County (MA) - Fresh off a 20-win season and a run to the D4 Central sectional semifinals, the Cougars will be making their first appearance in the "Wally" Seaver High School Invitational this summer.
